A Sweet Iced Tea Valentine's Day Treat

Up until last year I had never known how to make iced tea at home. I just figured it was a special treat I would have when my Husband and I would go out to lunch or dinner. 

(My facial expression is a bit serious. Iced Tea making is serious business!)

I had watched a few videos on making iced tea by sun brewing and boiling water, but that seemed like way too much work for this Southern Belle. 

Then, I came across a video on a iced tea maker. Say what? I have heard of coffee makers, but NEVER a iced tea maker! Your kidding right? Nope, I'm not. 

       

And Lucky me. On one of my Swap Meet Outings a lady was selling a Iced Tea Maker brand new in the box with two pitchers for $3. Good deal!

Just in case you might be as clueless as I was on homemade iced tea made the easy way. I thought I would make you a glass. 

All you need is 5 iced tea bags and water. If you are near a 99 Cent Only Store, they sell boxes of 100 tea bags for only 99 cents! 

This is where you place the tea bags and where the hot water will pour over. 

You will fill the pitcher with cold water to the marked water line. 

The top reservoir is where the water is then pored into. 

Do not turn the iced tea maker on until  the water is poured in and the pitcher is in place. 

Close top of reservoir and place mouth of pitcher lid next to machine where hot water will pour out of. 

Press the on button and the work will be done for you. No need to even watch it. It will shut off when done. I believe it will make about 4 large glasses. 

I like mine flavored with 3 sugar packets and squeezed lemon. Of course you can flavor to your preference. 

I'm sure there are lots of different types and models that work just as easy too.

My Successful Swap Meet Outing

I'm all geared up and ready for my Swap Meet Outing! 

Here are my Fantastic Finds of the Day. 

Well, hello Lovely Milk Glass Lamp that only costs $1!

I saw the potential in this old fashion beauty. It will be perfect for our master bedroom. It works too!

Silver Picture Frame cost $0.50. It's so romantic looking. 

Hobnail Ice Cream Bowls cost $0.25 each. 

Glade Candles cost $0.50 each. The seller had over 20 of these in different scents. 

Flag Pole Kit cost $1! God Bless America!

All was included and it appears to have never been used. :0)

Bird Statue cost $0.25. It's my favorite color!

Refrigerator Organizers cost 3 for $3. Don't get grossed out, it's nothing a little soap and water can't fix! 

I'm excited to use these to organize our refrigerator. :0)

Picture Frame cost $0.50. 

Bowl Full of Lemons Picture cost $1. 

Blue Retro Fan cost $4. It was my favorite buy of the day. 

It cleaned up nicely too. :0)

My Outrageous Owl Obsession

I have an obsession with Who Birds! Correctly known as Owls. It might have all started with me watching the movie "Legend of The Guardians, The Owls of Ga'Hoole".

From then on, it was love. 

Here is the collection I have been accumulating on my Swap Meet outings. None of these cost me very much money at all. 

This super large Owl Picture was giving to me by my Mother In Law for Christmas 2013. I've never seen anything like it and I absolutely adore it. 

This Owl is a Vintage Avon Perfume that cost me $1. I only plan on using it as a display. 

This fairly large Owl Picture is one of my favorites. It only cost me $1! 

How cute is this little guy? 

This Gold Owl is part of a wall collage I created. 

I believe it is actually a Soap Dish. 

Owl Earrings cost $1. I have yet to wear these. I actually think I might use them to embellish something. I'm not sure what yet. 

Owl Coffee Table Book cost $1. Such a great find!

Owl Necklace. Love it. 

Owl Night Light. This cute little guy resides in the kitchen. 

Owl Mirror cost $1. It's Vintage too. 

How awesome is this long Poster of an Owl in a Tree? Cost me $1.50. 

Owl Lamp cost $5 on a Swap Meet outing. It used to be black and I spray painted it turquoise. 

Family of Owls cost me 4 for $1! 

This Copper Owl Picture I really like. Cost me $1.50! 

This Owl Necklace I wear fairly often. It's too cute. 

This Ceramic Owl is interesting. I've actually seen a few others at the Swap Meet in different States. Next time, I might buy another and just spray paint it. 

Mini Metal Owl Statue was given to me by my Mother In Law. :0)

Crochet Owl Picture only cost me $1. It's so unique. 

Owl Plates cost 2 for $1! Using plates I adore makes me happy. 

I have these two in the bathroom. All eyes on you when using the toilet! ;0)

A Spider Web of Love Fireplace

Do you happen to have a non wood burning fireplace? We do. Ours is the type that you insert flame canisters that are to be lit. We have yet to buy them though and they are a bit pricey. 

Then I had a Bright Idea.  A Halloween Spider Web Of Lights! With no money spent, since we already had them on hand.  

We were using candles once in awhile, but I only liked to burn them when I was near and keeping an eye out. 

I think the lights are a much better solution! 

It's so Romantic at night with the orange glow! Or Spooky with the Halloween Web of Lights! You decide. 

Ooh baby!  You Light My Fireplace!
