My DIY Classy Chalk Board

Class is in session! Are you hot for teacher? ;0)

I purchased this wood picture frame a while back at the Swap Meet for $1! What a super great deal! I just love the wood stain and the black iron design in each corner.

I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it when I saw it. I have been wanting a long chalk board to hang on a narrow wall in our dining room. (Please ignore the dirty wall, I have since cleaned it.)

This Rust-Oleum Chalk Board Spray Paint is sold at Walmart for $3.97. That's a pretty good price if you ask me. After now trying it out, I would definitely give it 5 stars.

First I removed the backing and the glass from the frame.

Then I windexed the glass very well. Making sure it was dry.

I'm not sure if you can tell or not, but this is actually the glass to be spray painted.   The mat is painted on the back side of the glass. I layed it down outside on my go to cardboard for spray painting. I then sprayed it one full coat of the Rust-Oleum Chalk Board Spray Paint.

I sprayed it a total of 3 times. Waiting about an hour or so between each coat.

I am really happy with the end result. It came out much nicer than I expected. This project was super easy. Anyone can do it!

Total project cost $3.97 plus tax for the Chalk Board Paint and $1 for the Frame. Woo Hoo! I'm loving it!

Class is over! You may be dismissed. Till next time! :0)

Super Hot Swap Meet Haul

It was super hot at the Swap Meet today! So hot that the little makeup I had on melted off! And so hot that my family friend Nene and I didn't want to rummage through the goods! At least she was the smart one and wore shorts.

These Teal Glass Plates cost $0.25 each! I purchased 6 for a total of $1.50. All had tags and had never been used. I think they are so very pretty. :0)

I thought this Basket was adorable. Cost $0.50. I think I am going to use it to store medicines we usually have out and use often.

Crochet Pot Holders cost $1 for both. I think they are too cute. I definitely appreciate the time and effort it must have took to make them.

Charger Plates cost $2 for all 6. I have always wanted a set.  These will be perfect for the Holidays coming up.

Green Glasses cost $1 for both.  I love the polka dot design and that the glass is very thick. Don't be green with envy!

Glass Basket Weave Vase cost $0.50. This is one of my favorite buys of the day.  I plan on using it to hold a candle.

Ceramic Vase cost $1. I love the turquoise and brown color of it.

Wicker Lamp Shade cost $1. I have the perfect lamp for it too.

Candles cost $1 for both. I think they are lovely.

Iron Hot Plate Holder cost $1.

Ceramic Bird Candle Holders were free! Free I tell you! I bought a few clothes from a lady who gave me these. Which, I thought was super nice of her. :0)

Xmas Wilton Cookie Sheet cost $0.50. It was new in the plastic and had a $7.99 sticker price. My $0.50 purchase price is much better.

Wilton Cupcake Baking Cups cost $0.25. They were new in the package. Different Seller of the Cookie Sheet too.

Hello Kitty Pail cost $0.25. I am going to use it to store my frosting food colorings.

It goes great with another Hello Kitty Pail I already have and am currently using to store my frosting tips.

Tape Dispenser cost $1. I already have another that I am using on our desk. Though, this one is going to be kept with our gift wrapping items.

Candles cost $0.50 each. I just love candles and burn them daily.

Teal Basket cost $0.50. I am going to use it to organize my hair products in the hallway closet.

Lovely Clutch Purse cost $0.25! What a deal!

Sequin Purse cost $1. I thought it was too sparkly to pass up!

Large Print Purse cost $1. I am going to use it to store my tights and nylons. It had a Target tag on it.

I also bought a Tin Trash can for $1 and a broom for $1. Both are going to be used in the garage. I thought the trash can was a great buy at that price.

I just adore Nene! She is sweet as pie!

Here is a pic of Nene's buys. Two Pink Flower Blouses cost $3 each, Black/White Blouse cost $1, Beige Flower Blouse Cost $0.50, Cow Purse cost $1 and Mirror cost $0.25! Looks like she made out like a bandit!

That's going to be it on this Hot Swap Meet Haul! Till next time! Stay cool my fellow hot visitors!

Swap Meet Goodies

What do you think of this Wood Necklace and Bracelet? Cost $1 each. Not even the same Seller. I think they go perfectly together. I look like She-Ra in this photo. She-Ra! She-Ra! I have the power! ;0)

Necklace cost $1. Bracelet cost $1. (Different Sellers.)

Green Bead Necklace cost $1. (Same Seller as other Necklace.)

Wood Bead Belt cost $1.

Who says three is a crowd? How adorable is this velvet green pillow? Cost $1! I just love it!

I have two others in a different material, but the same design.  Though, the green velvet one is now my favorite. The others had cost $2 each on a previous swap meet trip.

It was a day for pillows! How lovely is this White Ruffle Pillow? Cost $1!

I have two others that I had previously purchased brand new in the store in the same design. And let me tell you, those two didn't cost anywhere near $1!  Grrr...

This print pillow cost $1. It matches well with the style of our living room.

And in case you are wondering, all pillows are washed and cleaned thoroughly.

Bouquet of Sunflowers cost $1. It looks much nicer in person.

Iron Candle Holder cost $1. I like that it's large enough to hold glass candles that have labels. I don't like to show labels. I'm weird like that.

It looks nice right? Great buy for $1 if you ask me!

Coffee Curtains cost $2 for the pair.

I am going to replace this dull curtain panel with the Coffee Curtains.  I think they will look too cute. :0)

I purchased this Tee-shirt for my Hubby. Cost $1. This Tee is totally my Hubby. He's definitely a Stud Muffin.  Back off ladies! He's all mine!

Heart Ice Trays cost $0.50 for set.

Vintage Suitcase cost $0.50. I just love this. My grandma had one similar when I was younger. It reminds me of her. I think I might use it for photos.

These Green Totes cost $5 for the set. I'm going to use them for Xmas storage.
(I've already cleaned them.)

That's going to be it on this post! I hoped you enjoyed my super cheap buys! Till next time!
